Campbell Co TN chief deputy fired over unspecified connection to deputy’s firing for crashing into a home off duty

Campbell County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jonathan Finley has been fired in connection with a crash that cost a sheriff’s detective his job.

Sheriff Robbie Goins said today that an investigation into the crash, involving off-duty Detective Jason Henegar, led to Finley’s termination. Goins would not discuss the policy violations or how they were linked to Henegar’s crash, which is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and Tennessee Highway Patrol.

Henegar was fired Wednesday after the crash Tuesday night at 254 Imperial Heights Lane in LaFollette. Henegar was alone in his F-150 truck when it ran off the road and into the house, injuring Janice Hatfield, 52, who was home with her husband, Robert Hatfield, 54, at the time, Goins said.
