Former Memphis police officer gets 40 years in drug case

A former Memphis officer is facing up to 40 years in prison after being convicted on federal charges of conspiring to distribute cocaine, sometimes using his squad car.

Lowell Duke, 37, provided money to a co-defendant, William Hardwig, to purchase cocaine and crack cocaine and sometimes drove him and others in his marked squad car to make drug deliveries, authorities said.
