Memphis Police Officers in “Ticket Protest” with city over pay cuts…

In July and August of this year, there were 18,000 fewer tickets written than in July and August of 2010. Multiple sources within the police department stated this is an organized movement to get back at the city for cutting officers’ pay by 4.6%.

The ticket slow down protest by Memphis Police officers has the potential to cost the city millions of dollars, and the city has the power to discipline officers in an effort to stop it.
