APSU Police Chief Resigns After Several Lawsuits, Numerous Complaints

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – After numerous employee complaints, five federal lawsuits and a suspension Austin Peay Police Chief announced his resignation from the university Friday.

Former Police Chief Lantz Biles announced his resignation October 5th, with an effective date of December 16th.

Biles was suspended from the APSU Police Department without pay in November of 2010, after university officials said he was accused of sexually harassing female employees. This was the second time in two years that such an incident had occurred.

A letter from Biles’ personnel files said he sexually harassed two female employees, by touching one unnecessarily and making personal comments toward another.
