Unicoi County Sheriff Kent Harris indicted on 10 charges

The grand jury returned 10 true bills against Harris.  Those are the written decisions stating they have heard sufficient evidence to believe crimes have been committed, and that the accused should be indicted.

Harris has been served with all counts and will now face indictment. The indictment has been sent to the court.

The charges include six counts of official misconduct, and one count of each of the following: tampering with evidence, criminal simulation theft over $1,000 and attempted aggravated assault.

The accusations came about after investigations by the  TBI.
