Former Hawkins County jailer sentenced to house arrest in drug case

A former Hawkins County jailer known to his friends as “Cornbread” was sentenced to three years of house arrest Friday in exchange for a guilty plea to felony tampering with evidence.

Johnny Malcolm Maddox, 25, served as a Hawkins County jailer from April of 2005 until he resigned in November of 2009.
