Personnel file reveals Memphis officer’s past troubles

MEMPHIS, TN -(WMC-TV) – A Memphis police officer who has been on the force for less than three years has now been taken off the job at least twice.
Tramaine Johnson’s most recent troubles began at Tennessee State University in Nashville.  Campus police said they smelled marijuana coming from the van in which the Memphis officer and several others were riding last weekend.

A spokesperson said upon searching the van, they did find marijuana.

This is not the first time marijuana has caused problems for the 26-year-old officer.  According to his personnel file, Johnson was the target of an administrative investigation in April after drug residue, digital scales, baggies and a stolen handgun were found inside his Hickory Hill apartment he shared with a known Vice Lord gang member.
