TN lawsuit accuses Humphreys County officers of second beating

A lawsuit filed by a Humphreys County man last week alleging he was beaten by sheriffs’ deputies isn’t the first time law officers there have been accused of brutality.

Another lawsuit was filed in federal court by a Humphreys County man who says he was Tasered and severely beaten by sheriff’s deputies and a Waverly police officer.

The suit filed last month charges that Dennis Dreaden, a 53-year-old Humphreys County resident, was beaten without provocation when he left a private residence where he had gone to retrieve his belongings.

Just last week, a separate lawsuit was filed by another Humphreys County resident, Darrin T. Ring, who has charged that he was beaten by some of the same individuals and Sheriff Chris Davis himself just one month after the Dreaden incident.|newswell|text|FRONTPAGE|s
