Metro Police Department fires decommissioned officer

The Metro Police Department announced Wednesday it has fired decommissioned officer Jeffrey Poole for alleged misconduct that resulted in his arrests on sex crimes and aggravated child abuse charges.

Poole was formally charged Dec. 7, 2011, with violating a number of police department regulations and policies, after having been the subject of criminal and administrative investigations. On May 18, 2010, he was decommissioned and ordered to stay away from police department facilities based on a Sex Crimes Unit investigation that alleged he sexually assaulted four women, three of them with prostitution histories, while on duty.
