Jamestown assistant police chief charged in DUI

JAMESTOWN, TN (WSMV) -A local assistant police chief has surrendered on a DUI charge.

Jamestown Assistant Police Chief Steve Taylor was indicted by a Fentress County grand jury on the DUI charge.

In December, Taylor allegedly lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road into the woods.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated and determined Taylor may have been under the influence at the time.

Taylor turned himself in Thursday and was released on bond.
