Davidson Co. Jail Director Arrested For DUI

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- A high ranking staffer with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department was arrested over the weekend.

Seventeen year veteran, Kevin Cox, the Chief of Operations for the Hill Detention Center downtown, was arrested and charged with DUI over the weekend in Murfreesboro.

Police said they found him slumped in his seat with his car still in drive, but his foot on the brake. It happened on Rutherford Blvd. A search of Cox’s vehicle found two loaded handguns in the trunk.

Cox was charged with driving under the influence and possession of weapons while intoxicated.

Officials with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Department said as of Monday, Cox remains on the job.
