Metro officer paid for sex while on duty, report says

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -A longtime Metro police officer is suspended without pay for 30 days amid accusations he paid prostitutes for sex while on duty.

At the conclusion of his suspension, Sgt. Christopher Polk’s irrevocable resignation will go into effect.

An officer at Metro’s east precinct, Polk joined the police department in 1994.

He has been decommissioned with all police authority removed since July 28 of last year.

The case into Sgt. Polk began in earnest when Metro’s cold case unit received a tip following the death of Virginia Ivory.  Ivory was found dead in a vacant lot in north Nashville in September of 2009.

The cause of her death has yet to be classified and investigators close to the case call her death “suspicious.”

According to an internal police document obtained exclusively by Nashville’s News 2 Investigates, investigators began questioning the relationship between Ivory and Polk.

The report states Polk denied any involvement in Ivory’s death, and he is not considered a suspect in the case, but investigators say there are other items of concern.

Not finding how to communicate with the site owner here…

This piece has some scary notions in it, such as the first paragraph stating that the state of Tennessee has a responsibility to keep everyone safe:

  2. Thanks for the link.

Its simply just another step towards their ultimate goal of a police state. One wrapped in the warm embraces of the biggest lie ever told.

    Public safety.

Its not about public safety, it never was, never will be.

    Its all about public control.
