Deputies Indicted by Federal Grand Jury In Humphreys County Beating

HUMPHREYS COUNTY, Tenn. – A federal grand jury has indicted two former Humphreys County sheriff’s deputies with one count of violating the civil rights of a suspect, who was brutally beaten.

The indictment alleges that Timothy Wayne Hedge, 50, and James Benjamin Lee, 32, violated Darrin Ring’s right to be free from unreasonable seizures by kicking and striking him with a collapsible baton during the course of arresting him, while acting under the color of the law.
