Former THP Trooper Charged With Having Sex With Minor
PICKETT COUNTY, Tenn. – A former Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper was charged Wednesday with allegedly having a sexual relationship with a minor.
Wade Williams was in court Wednesday in Pickett County, and pleaded not guilty to two counts of aggravated statutory rape, two counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and two counts sexual exploitation of a minor.
District Attorney Randy York charged Williams after the investigation showed he had allegedly had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old and manufactured child pornography.
The THP had placed Williams on leave in January after learning of the criminal investigation, and he later resigned.
