Sheriff’s deputy accused of dog fighting heads to court
MEMPHIS, TN -(WMC-TV) – A Shelby County Sheriff’s deputy accused of dog fighting and animal abuse will head back to criminal court Monday.
In August of 2009, investigators confiscated 14 dogs from deputy Jemario Taylor’s home in Whitehaven.
Taylor denied charged he had been using the dogs for fighting, saying he shows the dogs at competitions.
Police discovered the dogs chained together in the mud. Many of the dogs had bite marks on them.
This is one of many abuses that prompted Crime Stoppers to up the reward for tips about dog fighting.
