More Details In Kingsport Police Chief Allegations
KINGSPORT, Tenn. — We’ve learned more facts in the allegations against Kingsport police chief Gail Osborne.
According to city officials, Chief Osborne had checked with judge Mark Toohey before removing the property of a deceased tenant at a rental property Osborne owns.
Officials tell us the tenant was a woman whose only close relative is a 14-year-old child. Toohey reportedly advised Osborne that the personal property should be contained in a secure location until the court could decide what should be done.
It was at that point, we’re told, that Osborne reportedly had officers remove the items and place them in a storage unit which he is paying for.
Osborne, the police department, and the city are not commenting on the allegations until the TBI has finished its investigation.
Our attempts to contact the person who brought these allegations to light have been unsuccessful.
