LaFayette Public Safety Director Tommy Freeman fired

In the midst of a flurry of complaints against Public Safety Director Tommy Freeman for fostering a hostile work environment and retaliation against employees, city officials confirm he was fired this morning.

City Manager Frank Etheridge said Freeman was terminated this morning.

Freeman, who was over the police and fire department, was hired in 2007. He came under question in March, after a disgruntled and recently fired firefighter Johnny Stephens Jr. complained to city council that Freeman fired him out of retaliation.
