Ex-Sevier County deputy gets probation for assault

SEVIERVILLE β€” A former Sevier County Sheriff’s Office deputy convicted of attacking a neighbor earlier this year will spend the next five years on probation, a judge announced Monday.

Mark Lipton, 43, of Sevierville was sentenced during a hearing in Sever County Circuit Court before Judge Richard Vance.

Conditions of Lipton’s probation include that he undergo anger management counseling, a prosecutor said.

A Sevier County jury found Lipton guilty on March 23 of one count of aggravated assault for attacking a neighbor as the man road an ATV.

Authorities said the victim told them Lipton knocked him off the ATV then threatened him with a gun.

    Two sides of this story most definitely. The crooked ones here pertaining to Mark Lipton is the sheriff’s office Mark once worked for in Sevier County, and the equally if not more crooked district attorney of Sevier. More to come on this and other related matters.
