Former LaFollette police officer fired in wake of KPD ICAC investigation

Authorities say a LaFollette Police Department officer fired this month is being investigated by the Knoxville Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.

Patrolman Mike Baker, who was hired with the force on May 8, 2010, was terminated from the job June 5 in the wake of the criminal investigation, said LaFollette Police Department Police Chief Jimmy Jeffries.

Jeffries said Baker, 38, had not been arrested or charged on Friday and could not specifically say what the former officer was being investigated for.
