Former Police Officer Added To Most Wanted List
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A former police officer in Lafollette, Tenn., indicted on charges of Internet sex crimes, has been added to the Top Ten Most Wanted List by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Agents said Thursday that 39-year-old Michael Shane Baker is wanted on 22 counts of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and 22 counts of solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor. The counts involve a 13-year-old Georgia girl.
Investigators said the crimes happened between last August and December.
Baker’s last known address was 405 Forks Grove Road in LaFollette, although he was thought to be living in the New Tazewell area of Claiborne County.
He is described as bald, white with blue eyes, approximately 5 feet, 11 inches, 220 pounds. As a former police officer, he may be armed.
Authorities ask that anyone with information about Baker’s location contact LPD at 423-562-8331 or the TBI at 1-800-744-4000. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
