Coopertown’s last police officer quits. Police chief resigns amid media inquiries about department
The last remaining Coopertown police officer, Police Chief Paul West, has resigned, the mayor said Thursday.
In recent weeks, the department terminated its reserve officers after one was caught on video using racial slurs and fired another officer after he was accused of road rage. West, in response to what Mayor Sam Childs called “predatory reporting” by the media, has also now turned in his resignation.
