Rick Rout fired by Shelby County Juvenile Court Clerk

Rick Rout, a Republican candidate for Shelby County General Sessions Court Clerk in the last election, was fired from his job as a process server for the Shelby County Juvenile Court clerk’s office, accused of threatening his supervisor and making a hang-up call to the man’s mother.

It follows four other disciplinary issues Rout faced since he was hired in February 2011, including one incident that resulted in a 10-day suspension.

Rout, 47, the son of former Shelby County mayor Jim Rout, said he could not comment on his termination last week because of ongoing litigation.

Juvenile Court Clerk Joy Touliatos also declined to comment.

The most recent incident, described in Rout’s personnel file as “willful unprofessional conduct off duty,” occurred on Sept. 9 after in-service training.

No surprise here!! We knew it was coming, just a matter of time. Bet he dosn’t get anymore help getting a job! I wouldn’t be surprised if Big Daddy Rout changes his name and moves out of Tennessee!
