Metro officer accused of cheating on sergeant exam
NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -A Metro police officer is off the streets because of answers he gave on a test, and his bosses are looking into whether he cheated to get a promotion.
Officer Tim Szymanksi has been decommissioned as a city report raised serious questions about whether he was given key information before his test, possibly allowing him to cheat.
The report from Metro Human Resources revealed last month Szymanksi was testing to become a sergeant. During one portion of the test, he was given a fictional crime scenario in which, several times, his answers allegedly referred to three individuals and three casualties.
But the people giving the test grew concerned Szymanksi knew information he had not yet been given.
