Sheriff arrested for disorderly conduct

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities say Bledsoe County’s sheriff was arrested for disorderly conduct.

According to WRCB-TV, Sheriff James “Jimmy” Morris was taken into custody by Dunlap police around 4 a.m. Sunday following an incident outside a restaurant.

Huddle House restaurant manager Chris Cross told WRCB he received a call from 1 of his employees around 3 a.m. saying the sheriff was allegedly in a fight in the parking lot along with several other men and women.

The arrest report doesn’t describe a fight, but says Morris was taken away in handcuffs and charged with disorderly conduct. He later bonded out of jail with a thousand dollars.
