TN report reveals thousands in missing public money

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -Cities and counties are audited by the state all the time, but many people may be surprised to find out how much money is missing.

The state comptroller’s office said Thursday that more than $700,000 is simply missing from local coffers.

Most of that money was stolen and has not been recovered.
