Putnam jailer arrested for assaulting inmate

COOKEVILLE — A Putnam County jail corrections officer was arrested yesterday afternoon for allegedly assaulting a jail inmate in December.

Joseph Dwain Boswell, 34, of Cane Creek Road, Cookeville, was indicted by the Putnam grand jury earlier this month on charges of official oppression and assault in connection with an incident at the jail on December 24.
